Builder: @dynamicbuiltconstructions

A stunning Brighton residence designed by local architects at One Design Office.

Chama Design collaborated with Melbourne-based builder Dynamic Built Constructions to create a sophisticated fireplace feature that seamlessly integrates with the home's contemporary aesthetic.

The Vision

Create a striking fire feature harmonising with the floating TV cabinet while establishing an inviting gathering space.

The result is a custom burner-only ethanol fireplace that serves as both a functional heating solution and an architectural centrepiece.

Design Features

The installation showcases our longest linear fireplace, the EcoSmart XL1200, framed by a thoughtfully designed limestone plinth that echoes the kitchen and bar benchtops.

This material continuity between the fire feature and kitchen benchtops unifies the open-plan space, maintaining distinct zones, allowing the warmth and ambience of the flames to be enjoyed whether preparing meals in the kitchen or relaxing in the living area.

The seamless integration was achieved through the innovative use of toughened glass panels, creating an 'invisible' firebox that maintains the space's natural tones while meeting strict fireproofing requirements.

Technical Excellence

The fireplace delivers impressive heating capability, warming up to 65m2 with 15,000 BTUs of output (increasing the room temperature from 3 - 5 degrees).

Owner at Dynamic Built Constructions, Rob, notes, "A bioethanol fireplace offers a modern, visually striking flame, which creates a unique room feature. It's also a more cost-effective option while delivering a better aesthetic impact."

The design employs a sophisticated combination of materials, including:

  • Fire-rated plaster for the back wall and bulkhead.
  • Cement sheets and stainless steel panels for side fireproofing.
  • Toughened glass for a non-combustible, visually seamless finish.
